Boost the Range of Infrared Remote Control

The following video shows how you can boost the range of infrared remote control. The idea is simply apply a layer of aluminum foil around the infrared LED so that all infrared waves are reflected to the central to make the waves even stronger and move further.Theoretically, you can try this on any infrared remote control including you game console's remote control (e.g. Wii). It should work without any problem. Remember not to short circuit the infrared LED!
