24 Ports USB Hub

How many USB ports do you need for your computer? I have 4 USB ports in my notebook and it is more than enough for me. This super USB hub gadget allows you to have as much as 24 ports. How one going to use all this port in his computer?

If you are going to use up the 24 ports at the same time, I do think you will have not enough power to power up all you gadgets. You may need an AC adapter for additional power.

Let's see what you can do with 24 ports: USB mouse, USB keyboard, USB fan, USB light, USB hard drive, power to charge your iPod, power to charge your mobile phone, printer, camera, video cam, ... etc I couldn't think anymore.

The author from OhGizmo, Evan Ackerman, said 24 ports aren't enough for him. He could use up all 24 port for his gadgets and still ask for more ports. If he wants to put all the gadgets that OhGizmo has, he will need at least 45 of this super USB hubs.

Gecko Surfboard – The World’s Most Energy-Efficient Desktop Computer

This is a interesting desktop computer - Gecko Surfboard. It claims to be the world's most energy-efficient desktop computer. The Gecko Surfboard does not look like a computer, it looks like a keyboard!

Everything - the CPU, hard disk, RAM, graphics card ... - is hidden underneath the keyboard. And the size of the so called desktop computer is no larger than a standard keyboard.

Gecko Surfboard is created by a Thailand based company - NorhTec. According to NorhTec, Gecko Surfboard only uses 5 watts to operate which is about 72% of energy saving if compared to a normal desktop computer which uses 175 watts to operate.

The device runs on a 1GHz x86 SoC (System on Chip) and operate fanlessly. The processor Vortex86MX which is used by its previous Gecko products was re-branded as XCore86 and was characterized as a "light-duty" processor that provides enough power to run Windows XP, Windows CE, or one of several different Linux distributions.

The device includes a RJ45 connector for 10/100 Ethernet, a headphone jack, a microphone input, two USB 2.0 ports, and a serial port. Gecko Surfboard also has two SD/SDHC slots, permitting the computer's primary storage to be solid-state.

This device is definitely design for playing games and play high definition video but it is good enough to do word processing and surf the Internet.

Gecko Surfboard is pretty cheap in price. The device will cost approximately $99 with Linux and $150 with Windows XP. The availability date for this device is unknown but will be introduced at next month's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and go on sale subsequently.

Playstation 3 (PS3)'s latest firmware (3.10) update incorporates Facebook into the PS3 experience. PS3 users now can login into Facebook right in front of the TV. The new firmware update also allow users to publish additional game information to your News Feed like when you play a game in Facebook.

You may have seen single wheel bicycle, or so called unicycle but have you seen unicycle with motor in it?

Aleksander Polutnik, Slovenian inventor has designed a new motorized unicycle call Enicycle. Enicycle is one-wheel self-stabilizing unicycle. He claims that it is eaily learning to ride in less than 30 minutes.

Enicycle is powered by a electric motor and features a self-balancing gyroscope system that runs 100 times per second. To move forward or increase speed of Enicycle, simply lean your body forward and to slow down or stop, simple lean backward your body.

My ROCK Radio is number two in my cement-audio-series. It started of being a very nice rectangular brick shape. Then I found out that a thick layer of cement shields the radio from actually receiving radio waves. With my "Now it doesn't work anyway" philosophy, I took a big hammer and created this Flintstones look, and the radio works!

Dell’s Studio One 19

Dell demos multitouch features on the Studio 19 together with the coming release of Windows 7. The all-in-one Studio One 19 desktop system is due to start shipping soon. All-in-one means the functional desktop components that make it a PC are integrated with the 18.5” display.

The desktop comes with several colors for cosumer to choose: Solid Pure White, Tuscan Red, Navy Blue, Powder Pink and Charcoal. The starting price for Studio One 19 is $699 and will be first available in Japan.

It looks like a cheaper version on iMac. That's good because consumer can have more choice with cheaper and better PC. Josh Duncan from the product team demos on the Studio One 19 features especially the multitouch feature on the display.
