So it's understandable that top-ranking Air Force brass would want something a little more amenable to resting, taking meetings, and watching Hot Shots Pt. Deux on a 37" flatscreen. That's where the Senior Leader Intransit Comfort Capsule (SLICC) comes in?a private chamber being built for Air Force officers with beds, couches, the aforementioned flatscreen and other amenities. The problem? The Air Force has been caught diverting counterterrorism funds toward big SLICC's development. Officers already have what's known as the Silver Bullet?a small fleet of full-size trailers that can be loaded onto trans...

Air Guitar Rockstar - coolest-gadgets.com

Seems that air guitar devices are getting more and more popular these days, perhaps due to the deluge of music-based games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band? With the Air Guitar Rockstar, you’ll be able to live a semblance of your rocker fantasies.
This ingenious electronic headstock lets wannabe plank spankers crank out thunderous chords without all that fiddly fingering business. Simply press the chord buttons and strum the air. Infra red sensors detect your hand motions causing the selected chords to blast out of the built-in speaker. There are even several preloaded rock classics to play along to. And if they don’t get you dropping to your knees mid solo, you can plug in an MP3 player and jam along to any song you fancy. Of course, that's not to say the service won't crash horribly in the next 10 minutes, but at least AT&T stuck by its word, and can now move on to more pressing issues.Update: Yeah, turns out this isn't true, and AT&T has pulled the page. The builders of the Cisco Field stadium for the Oakland A?s are considering adding interactive touchscreens to every seat. The goal will be to provide useful and interesting information to spectators. Users could access players? stats right from their seat, and can get even practical information such as the driving routes out of the park. Other uses might include real-time information and services, such as finding out where the shortest bathroom lines are, and ordering some food and drink. Of course, the builders will have to take into account the possibility of vandalism, but that?s obviously part of their job.

No longer do you need to find a straight stick in the middle of nowhere with this device.
At the click of a button the multi-colored string whizzes into action creating a fluorescent arch that all your guests will have to lean backwards and dance through. Remember no touching of the string or you’re out. You don’t even need a stereo (although you may of course bring your own maracas)as the Limbo String has it’s very own Limbo Music to get you shaking to the groove. With a twist of the dial the string gets lower and the stakes get higher, so you might want to make sure everybody puts their drinks down: it could get messy! If you answered the latter, you're in the same camp as General Motors. They're hard at work on a fancy new windshield that uses lasers, infrared sensors and a camera to make it easier for your decrepit old granddad to see just where the hell he's going. The system projects a laser on the windshield to highlight things that you should be noticing, like the edge of the road on a foggy day or that first grade class on the crosswalk. The system is still a long way off, thanks to the many elements that would need to be put in place. For example, ...

AutoWeek Lists 50 Best Driving Routes in America - i4u.com

When it comes to car lovers the car is only half the equation. The Microsoft Xbox 360 has just lost its overall best-selling console position in the US to the Nintendo Wii, with 10.9 Wiis shifting since it was introduced in November a couple of years ago. This is pretty amazing, and it doesn't look as though the Wii juggernaut will be slowing down anytime soon. Sony takes second place this time round, mainly due to the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 that saw it shift 405,500 PS3s compared to the Xbox 360 which sold for slightly more than half the PS3's total this June. Great to see a more balanced spread of hardware this time round, meaning that all of them can co-exist peacefully with one another, offering quality entertainment no matter the platform.

Acer has recently begun shipping their Gemstone 8920G, and for lack of a better guess, I can only assume the “G” after 8920 stands for gigantic.

The Gemstone 8920G is sporting an 18.2-inch display, and weighs in at about nine pounds. Otherwise it does offer a solid set of specs which include the previously mentioned 18.2-inch display that offers a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution.

The 8920G is powered by a 2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor, has 4GB of RAM and also features two internal hard drives which total out at 640GB of storage, a 512MB nVidia 9650M GS card for graphics, Wireless-N Wi-Fi, an HDMI out as well as a DVD writer with Blu-ray reading capability.

Who needs to be "green" when you can go really, really fast? Well, Shelby Supercars figures it can have it both ways, with an all-electric version of the Ultimate Aero, the Ultimate Aero EV. Seeing how the Ultimate Aero is already the world's faster production car (at least officially, sorry Buggati), they don't see it as much of a leap of faith for this new version to carry that mantle into the electric space: "I think we can do it faster, leaner and cleaner than any other manufacturer," says the ever-modest SSC founder Jerod Shelby. The new car will be powered by a single 373kW electric motor, with a dual-motor "high performance" version being considered, which should give its gas guzzling sibling some serious ...

Apple Orders More MacBooks - ubergizmo.com

Apple is seen to be ramping up its notebook production this summer after placing an order for 20% more circuit boards required for its MacBook line, according to a Taiwan-area newspaper who have dugged around, identifying up to four companies in Taiwan who will benefit from this exercise. Word has it that a redesigned MacBook Pro case will be released pretty soon, while there are also whispers of new high-end and regular MacBooks coming out later this year as well.

The main reason behind the acronym? WORM stands for Write Once Read Many, and will target professional uses including police investigations, court testimony, electronic voting and other applications where it is imperative that data files must be protected from alteration or deletion at all costs. After all, it is much easier to modify analog recording media such as film and audio tape (which are going the way of the dodo by the way, if they haven’t yet done so already), leading to a rise in demand for a suitable solution where digital devices are concerned. At this point, it's pretty hard to figure out which netbook is better than another, but if you've been keyed in on Acer's version for whatever reason, Laptop has a review sure to pique your interest. The Aspire One was praised just as soon as it left the box for its classy styling and super portable design. After getting down to business, however, reviewers felt that the typing experience was only "decent" and the touchpad was "cramped" -- two things we actually would expect from a device of this stature. Nevertheless, the port selection was tolerable, the performance was passable and the battery life left a bit to be desired. CompUSA has made the Nokia N810 all the more affordable by dropping its price to $299. That's not too shabby a figure to exchange for a 800 x 480 resolution display with a web browser, Flash support, Skype capability, e-mail and chat compatibility, multimedia playback and a GPS navigation system. Hopefully this discount won't be limited to just the US but other parts of the world as well. After all, it'd be pretty cool to get one of these now and try to run Windows 3.1 on it.
